Well all sorted now...well kinda. Scrapyard had no freelanders but guy thought there might be a tailgate in a far corner and I got lucky...even luckier as it was £5. It must be a pretty common problem (oh good another design fault) because this "new" one had cracks where the bolts were mounted...

This happened when I pulled the door open...not forcefully. When i went into my friends house another friend there mentioned this had also happened to their other freelander owning pals. This a common experience? Going to cost me big time for a new one? Mine is a three door hardback.
