I have an auto Rangerover 3.9 efi classic with a faulty gearbox. I also have access to a R380 box cheap. What would be involved in changing it to suit the manual if i was to do it myself and how much would i look to pay if i was to give it to a garage to do. On another hand if this...

It drives and pulls fine in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. How many clutch's are in it? If theres 2 would this mean 4th and reverse use the same clutch?

When i Rev in Reverse i can hear something in the gearbox trying, but nothing happens :(

Happy new year all! Now a few days ago i lost 4th and reverse on my auto ZF gearbox. The next morning i went out to the car and id lost all drive completely. Today i have changed the gearbox oil, and the screen filter inside and refilled. I have 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but NO forth or Reverse...

I have too many hobbies. This is the problem. Got myself another money pit more like! Yesterday i lost reverse gear and 4th on my auto box. Any ideas what it could be. Hoping its just the fluid need topping up

There will be.... Its in standard form at the minute apart from a tubular front bumper with recovery points. Got some 33" kumho Mt's to go on after a lift, need to chop the rear towbar bracket and i'll go from there for the next upgrades ;)
