Went through this thread a dozen times before I sorted the problem. Solution is for a facelift Freelander 1 with the satnav radio - skip to the last paragraph if you're in a hurry. Changed the battery then realised I did not have the radio code. Straight to LandyZone and read this and other...

Same HDC and TC amber lights problem, intermittent then permanent. New switch by the brake pedal sorted it - seems like the unit had failed rather than just a piston problem. Thanks for the posts above which were a great help with the diagnosis (2005 TD4 HSE). Tim
