    Not well Got the repaired ECU back, hooked it all up and nothing - except that the car then wouldn't start - turned out the fuel pump fuse had blown ( funny it's close to the ECU) so the thing is now sitting at my Range Rover specialist who is taking the seat apart......

    Looks nice - I had an '88 which went to the rust home in the sky last year - Martin Gilbert at www.rangeroverspares.com has it (Hitchin) and it had a new factory lower tailgate - I've got some doors if you get desperate.. On mine - what went in 10 years, roughly in order Rear wheelarches...

    Thanks guys - you were right. Got the ecu out without removing the seat, if you unhook the harness and unscrew the back of the gray box and lever it open you can, with difficulty, slide the ecu out and unplug it - guess what - leaky battery and green bits on the pcb but not too serious looking...

    Is that housed in a grey box towards the rear of the seat with a sticker on that says void if opened? Going to try to extract it as it's hard to get the seat out when you can't move it.... Found a battery supplier and - should the chip have failed found a supplier for them too so then it's...

    If the ecu under the driver's seat has failed - would that also make the passenger seat inoperative - my passenger seat works perfectly...

    Battery is quite new and all the main earths have been cleaned up to clear a misfire. If there's a separate earth for the seat - where is it? Also, thought the ecu under the driver's seat was the engine ecu - does this one control the seats then?
