thanks guys, yes could well be oil on the clutch plate didnt think of that, it definatley feels mechanical though, yes 2nd is slightly easier and reverse is hideous, i currently feel violated when its shuddering when moving it around as ive got no seats sat on the fuel tank definatley...

in the middle of my series 3 build its a 72' 109 converted from a petrol to a 2.5 n/a when manouvering around the yard when turning slowly its juddering around the back end/gearbox and when pulling away its all over the place juddering and lumping, when moving its fine ive de-selected...
