I've recently put 35" tyres on my Defender 110. I've found from greenlaning that my gear ratios have changed (no surprise there) and that my 1st gear Low box is equivalent of everyone else's 2nd. I've also found the engine gets hotter more quickly and can often nearly overheat going up hills...

They were put on nearly 10 years ago (I think) would that make them steel? Not really sure what to try now other than the heat??

I don't know if they're steel or aluminium. I've now tried bolted the wheels back on the lowering the vehicle. I thought that sounds like it would definitely work - nope, still solid! So time for the stupid question: they're only on using the 5 original wheels bolts right? There's nothing...

Trying to remove the wheel spacers from my Defender and they're stuck. I've tried PlusGas all round and hit it a couple of times. Wondering if the next step is a propane torch but never done that anywhere before. Any helpful ideas?

A wiring fault would certainly explain why the light goes off when the side lights come on. I know the vehicle doesn't have it's original engine.

Defender 110 Double Cab originally '93 but rebuilt in '03. Had a 300tdi fitted then and still only has 35k on the clock and was converted to Auto. Will get a picture on my profile soon. Just got it taxed today!
