CD changer not recognized by the stereo

Hi, Recently my CD changer stops working after a re-wire because the previous owner made an awful work with 3M electrical tape. CDs and controls were working fine except for the sound quality which I presumed it was for the poor wiring (just twisted and taped). The cables were welded...
