    I know of a D2 with a 300tdi engine. The owner is very happy with it so far .It was bought already converted so I'm sorry I can't say how difficult it is or what is needed to do it.

    Thanks for the ideas. I've swapped the dash gauges (just changed the whole binnacle) but nothing different so assume my temp gauge is ok. Have taken readings over several parts of the engine with an electronic temp gauge at "Normal" running temp, just need to be able to stop safely on motorway...

    Basically the whole engine has been replaced ! Replaced the block beacause told that could also be porous. Mine had done 204k miles so replaced with one half the mileage but transfered all my original auxilliaries, so new head gasket, heads ok, new radiator and pipes, water pump is 12-18 months...

It only overheats at sustained motorway speeds, 65-70 mph, and I was told the thermostat housing could be porous, at these speeds when under load it can...

    Nothing spectacular , ARB Winch bumper with winch, Discoparts tree sliders and HD Rear bumper , twin batteries and bits n bobs with an "Overlander" theme , plus a full width Allisport intercooler in a vain effort to cope with the extra weight ! :) When I figure out how to I'll post a piccy...

    Another newbie

    Hi all :) New to Landyzone but not not Landy's, drive a 98 300tdi Disco with a few mods, I think you have to love these motors to own them and mine has certainly tested my patience over the years :) Cheers Steve
