If the cable snaps and you can't open the bonnet don't faf around with bits of bent wire if you raise the bonnet slightly...I used an inflatable bag thingy... or a wooden or plastic wedge you can slide a 10mm spanner in and undo the bolts that hold the catch on the bonnet lid and hey presto open...

Thanks for the info 'FlyingPete' the first thing I did was to find a good earth for all my extra gauges as I wired in the instrument lighting ring first. TTFN

The gauges are already earthed via the lighting circuit. TTFN...

Both terminals are insulated off the gauge by plastic insulators and are marked '1' and '2'... TTFN.....

I've sussed the lights for the gauges (live and earth) they work, it's the actual wiring to make the things work that I need. Thanks for the quick reply though....

I have fitted oil pressure & temperature gauges to my 300Tdi Defender, they are Land Rover gauges, and on the rear of each of them are two spade fittings, one for a male spade and the other a female. One of the terminals I'm sure will go to the appropriate sender but where does the other go as...

I'd like to fit a Td5 fuel tank into my '94 300Tdi Defender apart from the obvious items I'll need, fuel tank, filler, longer fuel lines, pump can anyone else think of anything I'll need....... Also has anyone done this conversion and have any tips / advice.:alien:
