This sounds similar to my problem - see recent post loss of power/drive Mine only happens when have finished a long motorway run, or been crawling in traffic a long time. However last time I opened the fuel cap to let air out, and it didn't help, so maybe it's the pump?

Thanks for the number and advice. I just bought the top hose in the end £16.60 including VAT and clips from LR fitted it OK, and bled so heater works fine.:)

After 15,000 (almost) trouble free miles in my 1999 Freelander SW, the top radiator hose split last night on the motorway, so I ended up being towed home.:( Ordered a new one from LR, about £14 plus VAT so not too bad. Just need some anti-freeze and will sort it out at weekend...

Not had this on my freelander, but it happened to my Daughter's Rover 114. Turned out to be the Thottle Body itself, which they replaced with a s/h part and it's been fine ever since

Something to do with the gearbox/clutch I would have thought, if it only happens when reversing - just guesssing though!

What is the "recommended" cambelt change interval for a 1.8 petrol then (and what does it cost)? Mine is on 54k now.

I haven't had my 99T 1.8 station wagon long (about 4000 miles), but as i do a lot of motorway work set them to 32 p.s.i. all round. They don't look as flat and shouldn't wear unevenly at that pressure. I remember reading CAR magazine years ago and one of the regulars, the late LJK Setright...

Just looked in my storage box for the first time (only got car last week) and it had a bit of water in and smelt horrible!:( I will run around with it open to dry off and when I have some time will try and find out where water is coming in - plenty of advice on here it seems!:D Why oh why...
