Thanks for the advice. I couldnt make my mind up if I wanted to proceed and then I had a text from the owner to say the V8 was sold! So I didn't get a chance to ask why it never had the facelift on a '54 plate. I'm not in no rush to find a V8, the hunt goes on:D
