you need to check with wheel on. but not just at 12 & 6 oclock but at 3 & 6 aswell if no play there then look at the ball joints.

Ok this is a very silly Question but you sead that all the leads & dizzy have been off. I bet you have checkrd but are the leads in the right fireing order & all pushed home properly?

Not had much to do with a gas conversion but if it runs on two fuel systems is there a cut off some where that stops one fuel getting to the engine when it is running on the other fuel. just a thought.

It was -12 here this morning & my old 300tdi has to be cranked over a few times to start. i have found that if i give it a couple of shots of the the glow plugs it starts a bit easyer. worth a try

it may be that at some time someone has tryed to put a wrong code in. if so you may have to just leave it turned on for a bit (could be for a hour or more) & then it shuld say code.

got 90 out of mine but the in side of the landy started to smell & it was not burningoil if you know what i mean. so i will stick to 70 ish (only on the motorway of course).

Just thought i would pass on the good news as i am so inpressed myself :) My 300tdi has just passed its mot with only a few things that needed doing. The dreaded tinworm showed his face (again), a track rod end,a couple of brake pipes & a hole in the exhaust. Not too bad this time bit of a pain...

As was mentioned before check the earth lead. If the earth is at fault ie going some were els then yes the power lead will get hot very hot as it drawing a lot of power but not going to earth correctly & as a result the starter will turn over very slowley.

i have a 94 300tdi & according to the hand book (which i was lucky enough to find in the glove box) the fuel gauge does read the fuel level in the tank even when the key is out.

Had same prob with mine. turned out to be the plug at the changer end. Unpluged it a bit of wd wipe it down & it worked fine after that.
