I get 35 mpg on my 300tdi hcpu defender, about 25-27 mpg in town. How much does tires size and thread matters on fuel consumption do you think? I run on Grabbers At2 (great in mud, good in snow, scary on ice, I got lots of instant white hair this winter in sweden...) :D
