ok i feel a bit stupid posting this....... i took the handbrake shoes off annnnnnnd i forgot which way they came off.........:doh: so im unsure which way they go back on.......

new battery and a knock on the solenoid and away it went :) chug chug chug lol

hmm ill check the connections, the lights do go dim when trying to start

My 2.25 diesel won't turn over, it won't even beep the horn properly, I did think it would be the battery but it's not :s I've just changed the earth lead to the engine, when I turn the ignition key I just get a ticking noise from the starter

got the engine to turn over by fixing the earth lead, took the drum off the handbrake and found that the actuator attached to the handbrake lever is seized and doesnt seem to be un-seizing, it rolls now tho :)

oh and the centre brake drum, thanks for all the advice by the way, its really helpful :D

lol, ill get a new battery tomorrow and looking at the earth lead that goes from the engine to the battery, its pretty knackered, ill sort those two out and report back :)

The engine goes to turn but its as if the battery has no power, even when its being jump started, it makes the engine of the car jumping it labour but still doesnt turn, i know it needs a new battery but i didnt think that would matter when its being jump started

nope, pulled the handbrake and let it off again thats about it

Free'd up the rear drums and done a bit of under sealing

Yeh I think it could be the handbrake drum stopping it move but I'm still confused about the engine not turning, it's so frustrating now, all I want to do is get it roadworthy so I can take it off road :s

Handbrake is off, it will only spin the diff when 2 wheels are off the floor, when only one is up it's as if it's in gear

Oh i turned the engine over fine yesterday :s

My series 3 2.25 diesel won't move at all, engine won't turn even when it's being boosted and it won't roll even when everything is in neutral and the clutch is down, it just rocks like it's still in gear :s All wheels have full and free movement when they're off the floor, I'm confused.......

Yeh it does seem to be cable operated, I'll have a go at tightening it as it does look a bit slack
