    P38A Air suspension won't rise

The other next steps is a banch test like this: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/97-p38-gems-eas-issue-which-seems-to-have-expanded.387706/post-5576496

P38 gearbox grinding and diagnosis (ZF4hp22)

GEMS has an additional cover plate, but I think the 1999 onwards it's part of the sump on Thor engine ? Not sure about diseasel though. The bell housing inspection plate should be enough to see the flex plate on all types ?

    P38A Air suspension won't rise

Yes you can just fit one scrader valve in place of the compressor, but you will also need to activate the diaphragm valve to fill the tank. This also assumes there are no other leaks. The problem with this approach is the tank will get emptied while driving as the system adjusts. Hence...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

My local MOT guy will do a dummy MOT test for the standard fee. That way I can fix it before the real test & avoid fails or advisories.

My crazy diff ratio change idea

You were the one saying to were offended !! Most of us just want you to go ahead and do it & report the outcome after the trip.

+1 it's all described in RAVE, but that doesn't detail the ECU strategy. Only how valve-4 works & the stages.

    P38A Air suspension won't rise

If the pump is not refurbished yet, just put the valves on the four airlines that go to the airbags. Tyre pump might do it, but most are only good for 35-40psi. The airbags need about 50-60psi for standard height. Once the airbags & pump are sorted, just get the system running & clear...

    P38A Air suspension won't rise

CR Max does not do most stuff on a P38. Petrol Engine & possibly gearbox only. You need Nanocom or EASunlock V3 If your EAS is on the bumpstops, there's no air in it & no need to deflate. Simply push the collets in & pull the airlines out. Once the pump is repaired, connect it all up &...

My crazy diff ratio change idea

If you're offended by words like "kiddo", or the other sentences in Mark's initial post, then you definitely need to man up. There was definitely absolutely nothing in there that was offensive, racist, abusive or otherwise !! It's called banter, and common place on this forum - get used to...

My crazy diff ratio change idea

I did not imply you let the box get low on fluid, or state it was you, or blame you. You clearly said in the other thread it was low when you bought it, and was going into limp mode. You indicated (not stated) that you were looking at used replacements (which I agree with & have no problem...

My crazy diff ratio change idea

As it happens, RRPhil suggested your gearbox was probably on it's way out due to running low on fluid for a while before you bought it ? Mine was a simple question with no ridicule, hidden banter, mickey taking, etc. Just a query because diff changes must have some impact on how the...

Did you rebuild the gearbox yet, or just assume it was low fluid ??

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I think it needed 15mm strip. Wickes only had 20x2mm & complete faff in the hot weather narrowing them all down !!

Finally after more than a year, repaired the plastic tabs on my lower tailgate trim last night. 2mm aluminium strips glued with Sticks Like SH*T. All nicely bonded, and re-installed just now. The cover has been flapping for ages.

    Freelander 1 New-to-me FL1 TD4 2006 - smoke on startup and doesn't get up to temp

These were our TD4 before & after injector tip cleaning. What I didn't do was time them properly to get a good mL per Min measurement.

    P38A Air suspension won't rise

Jack it under the axle & put axle stands under. Then height sensors are easy even on the bumps. As others said get some schrader valves as well. Then you can raise it up, while fixing the pump.

My crazy diff ratio change idea

Er actually you don't just take it, you respond at excessive length to the slightest comment or opinion. You also did the same on the other forum, when anybody mentioned fuel economy, even though your first post on here and there mentioned it as possibly covering the costs !! That's why...

@iSanttu Might be worth putting this AC issue into a separate thread. Do you know if they used the correct quantity of R134a ?
