P38A 2.5 D aircon issue -> no code in EAS unlock, but get the service book

There are no code for the dual-pressure switch. If the pressure is above 35psi it will be closed, so the HEVAC can engage the compressor. If the gas stays between 17psi & 305psi then it will remain closed & allow the HEVAC to control the compressor on-off as required. Note: the other half...

    P38 Height Sensors

I have a couple that definitely have issues with solder joints on the wires into the PCB, although that could be PCB track issues. Was planning to replace the capacitor at same time. Will try your heat trick (but not too much heat) !!

I was digging this one for many days in spare time. Still cannot get the PCB out. Is there a trick ?

P38A 2.5 D aircon issue -> no code in EAS unlock, but get the service book

Has the car got the clutch relay, or the earlier version driven directly from the HEVAC ? If it's the early version, check what voltage the clutch is actually getting. I had a problem on my 1998 where the clutch was getting intermittent. 12V directly via jumpers always engaged it, but the...

P38A 2.5 D aircon issue -> no code in EAS unlock, but get the service book

+1 on this. There must be some heating effect in the clutch coil, so if the gap is too large it migh not pull in properly after the first time ? Gap should be 0.4 to 0.8mm.

    P38 Height Sensors

Marty experimented with his own driver pack, but apparently had issues with glitches due to interference. Work & family stuff got in the way of further development. If it wasn't for that damn potting compound, the existing packs would be easy to repair.

    P38 Height Sensors

How much ?? I have a couple of driver packs that have intermittent wires, but cannot access the PCB to resolder them. Tried digging out the compound but still cannot get the PCB out.

    P38A Tuning the 4.0 thor

GEMS has a setting for 4.0 or 4.6, but cannot find anything in the Nanocom for Thor ?? Either the original Thor ECU might learn the new engine behaviour, or it will under/over fuel because the firmware is wrong !! Best talk to one of those ECU specialists.

P38A 2.5 D aircon issue -> no code in EAS unlock, but get the service book

I have seen similar. If the blend flap happens to be close enough (and the HEVAC does not do calibration on that drive), then my book symbol sometimes stays off. If I then adjust temperature, the stuck motor brings up the book. Most likely nothing to do with the compressor, but check the...

P38 Diesel Injector Pump & Cam Top Dead Centre?

Test result was vague. Told doc I had ear infection again, hence penicillin, but it sorted the dull ears & taste issue. Maybe it was false positive !!

P38 Diesel Injector Pump & Cam Top Dead Centre?

Me & my wife had 4 Covid jabs each. No ill effects, although I did get covid after being in Cologne in May 2022. Main impact was on our Canaries holiday the week after. couldn't taste food properly & dull ears. Sorted that out back home with standard penecillin.

    P38A MAF woes

I suspect you are correct Keith (hence why I said "assumed" above !! ). Most docs are vague onb it, but "GEMS by Poole" document says this, but that could be a resistive divider with or without correction. Correction of non-linear output could easily be done in the ECU.

    P38A MAF woes

Pin-1 should be supply voltage. A1-6 connects via RL12 to 12V Pin-2 will be the MAF output Pin-3 goes back to the ECU Ground via A1-9. Assuming no electronics inside the MAF, you should see static resistance across pins 2 & 3 (maybe 1-2 as well?). As Keith says you're not gonna see any...

    L322 Stuck in Park

Best sort the battery drain. Otherwise depending on sunshine at you local area, get a solar panel, or one of these Noco Genius chargers. I could not get enough sun due to local trees, but that Noco kept my Blue P38 batterys until I fixed the drain problem.
