hi sam, sounds like fun to me, ive never put a hiab on a landy but have put plenty on puddle jumpers & bigger trucks, the method for those if its of any use to you, was to make a heavy subframe the same width of chassis with cross braces & with the hold down blocks for the hiab welded to it...

ally is the anode to stainless s cathode, making stainless fixings in ally sheet no problem, not enough to worry about anyway, however if you reverse the roll and put ally rivets in stainless sheet your asking for problems as the larger the cathode to anode ratio the more corrosion problems...

mig is definately the way to go for diy & quick repairs, shielding gas being the main issue with expense, most diy miggers go for the small halfords type bottles but they seem to dissapear quite alarmingly fast & aint cheap, better if you know a friendly landlord who can sort you with c02 from...
