Try a new fuel filter, then drain fuel sedimenter, then i'd be looking at the lift pump. good luck. Regards Mark. p.s Toyota though !

Hi m8 the first thing i would check is the fuel sedimenter, if its not been emptied for a while it may be letting some moisture through to your pump causing white fumes when burnt. Regards Mark.
