think i need a new alternator

I know its not much use to you now but I used Breakeryard.com to source bits which worked well. Ended up buying from Gwent 4X4 breakers and got delivery next day.

think i need a new alternator

I had problems with my alternator last year after oil leaked over it. I got one from a breakers for less the £50 and fitted it myself. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate myself a low 2 as a mechanic so it can't be that hard to do. You need a closed end nr 24 spanner to get the belt off and...

    Non Starting Freelander

Its niceto have the diagnosis confirmed and that getting an expert to do the job is sensible. Although when my local mechanic said he wouldn't try it either that was a pretty good hint thats its not that easy.

    Non Starting Freelander

I had a diagnostic check this morning and No3 Injector is Faulty/Leaking. Spraying Easy Start into the air intake gets it started and looks like it runs OK after that. I have booked it in to get the injector changed as everything I have read points to this being one of those jonb that can go...

So who had fun in the snow then????

I have to agree that there are times when HDC doesn't help. I was going down a hill that was so slippery the HDC didnt seem able to cope and the HDC didn't seem abot to cope with having no traction at all. Turning HDC off and just going down in 1st was the answer.

So who had fun in the snow then????

I think I let the side down a bit as I got stuck in my 2003 Freelander. The snow was deep enough so that I had problems opening my door to get out so not a complete disgrace but I think if I had kept more momentum I would have got farther. It took me about half an hour to dig out enough to...
