How to make the V8 sound a bit throatier??

I don't have any cats and blows on both sides of the centre box and possibly the rear too, sounds brilliant :D How would it fair noise wise MOT/legally removing the centre box for a straight pipe? James.

Pics of my RRC Vogue SE (after a good clean this weekend!)

Looks lovely! Did you use anything special to shine up your bumper corners? I can only hope that one day my RRC can look as clean as yours :) James.

Help me get her back on the road :)

^Cheers reddwarf, it's always good to read some positive thinking after a days work on the car in the cold :) There is no visible mayonnaise and the operating temperature has never fluctuated past the point 'just below middle' on the gauge. I'll get the battery changed first job when she's...

Help me get her back on the road :)

A small update with some further questions for y'all lovely people. Firstly, haven't gotten around to looking at the brakes yet; this weekend hopefully. I believe my battery to be faulty but trying to diagnose whether or not it could actually be the alternator or a battery drain issue. - Upon...

Help me get her back on the road :)

I'm under the impression (confirmed by a brief google searches) that a 'Service Brake' is the primary braking system, i.e. drums or discs. Whereas the handbrake/emergency brake/etc is classed as the 'Parking Brake'. Please someone correct me if i'm wrong. Hence why it was specified as a...

Help me get her back on the road :)

You could be on the money there; some clean oil, plugs and possibly leads i'm sure would help things get to where they should be - plus a little bit of an Italian tune-up wouldn't hurt :) I was thinking this actually, perhaps that's why i've left it until last to ponder over. When the fuel...

Help me get her back on the road :)

I appreciate your concern, I'm impressed at your ability to evaluate it's structural condition from the photos provided ;) It had both the sills replaced in 2008. When we picked her up from the MOT garage this current time round, I inquired as to the extent of corrosion from the owner who...

Help me get her back on the road :)

Cheers Fett, there is just something about the classic that draws me in that other cars have failed to do and I know that if I broke or sold mine then I'd forever regret it. Looking forward to learning the ways of offroad driving too! Glad to hear i'm in the same boat with respect to...

Help me get her back on the road :)

The pump is done, I did indeed just chop out the lines and will reattach it all with new fuel hose when I get the filter through. As I couldn't find any attachments for the new filter I had, I decided to buy the one made for the earlier (and later so it seems?) model with the 8mm barbed...

    RRC 3.9 v8 wont start

I had the same problem, in the fact that it would crank and crank, cough slightly every now and again but never 'catch'. Turns out my rear fuel lines were shot so i'll see how it goes after they've been replaced. If you turn the ignition on, off again then on and crank and see if it works...

Help me get her back on the road :)

Will get that sorted before trying the emissions again. Yep, they were thinking sensibly when they put the access hatch in - it would be a little annoying having to drop the tank for that job. I Hammerite'd the front and rear bumpers this morning to neaten up the rusty look a tad. The front...

Help me get her back on the road :)

@mozz smith - the car is sitting in Somerset near Taunton atm. Thanks :) It's a non cat, the centre exhaust box is blowing and needs to be sealed properly (it's new so a bit worrying) not sure if that would throw the readings off? Otherwise I was thinking of an Italian tune up unless...

Help me get her back on the road :)

Hello all, New to the forum as I've just acquired a '92 Range Rover Vogue 3.9 EFi from my Uncle as it failed to pass it's MOT last month. I've always expressed an interest in it and therefore am keen to get it on the road again. Failures being: - Offside service brake...
