Check your tyre wear; could be any number of things as basic as low psi, alignment or tracking, suspension or your brakes.
ATS will do a free tyre wear check and look at your ballance and alignment for free, that will help you rule out a few things.

1/ Yes innward facing bench seats are legal. Not for children though; they (hight dependant) are required by law to use booster seats which must be on forward facing seats with seat belts. I have passangers in the back of mine regularly, but would be nearvous of doing so on an Mway.
