Ok cheers, is the head gasket hard to change on the discovery tdi?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, i'm an electrical engineer and i'm not too good with mechanics.Does the head have to be skimmed, or only if it's warped? I turned the engine off as soon as the gauge had risen. Only bought it last saturday, absolutely gutted! The advice is much appreciated cheers...

Yeah it cranked over and sounded normal, just wouldn't start, didn't wanna burn the starter motor out.

Hi all, my discovery overheated today just as i was coming off the motor way, when i pulled over the coolant tank was empty and there was a lot of steam coming from the engine. I let it cool down and filled the coolant tank with water, but the discovery wouldn't start again. Does anybody have...
