Unmessed with '73 series 3 for sale

Hi All, Ive got a land rover that I don't need at present. Its pretty nice and unmessed with, but does need TLC for the MOT. A few bits of welding to the chassis mainly, the pics should show these. The person I bought it off had already started doing this work. If it doesn't sell I'll crack on...

    109'' Series Station wagon chassis

Hi All, Ive got a 109'' series station wagon chassis in my yard that I bought for a project around 3 years ago. The project has since long gone, and I have the chassis left. Bare apart from the steering box and column, its pretty solid, although it has seen some welding. There aren't any numbers...

Series 2 a found in the woods!

Special delivery on a letter means it gets returned to you if its undeliverable, unopened. This stands up legally as uncontactable as I have got websites closed down on this basis with NOMINET, the internet governing body. Bottom line, the police or the DVLA will not get involved in any legal...

    RRC lift?

Hi All, I need to get some large tyres on my '90 RRC, I'm thinking of using the 2inch lift spring spacers to give a little lift, and clearancing the arches/rear doors. My questions is, what kind of size tyres can I get on for good ground clearance but still retain a reasonably large amount of...

I agree about the explosives and JCB, although I have 2 optimistic cold weather mates, One's answer was a 'fekkin massive flamethrower' and the other was 'build a cabin around it and fill it with wood burners' - Both of these options I considered and declined.... ;)

Cheers for the help and advice so far guys, I didnt go to Glastonbury, so whoever was broken down wasnt me! ;) I'm thinking that as time goes on, it will be getting towards the cold (-30) season reasonably soon, so there might not be enough time this season to get the RR built up to whatever...

Okay guys, a bit of background here. I am very enthusiastic about old VW busses, and have a few of the earliest ones around. I do travel far and wide to collect vans and/or parts, and put the time in to restoring them. In the past year, 2 of them have had complete new chassis fabricated...

Balloon tyres plus dump truck tyres then, for either scenario. Looking to make sleds 1/2m widex3m wide for the car trailer to ride on instead of wheels, will bolt through tread base. Anyone know a good UK source of balloon bog tyres?

For ground clearance, yes, but the front prop angle would foul the crossmember with a lift of more than 60mm I think. :)

I did think about a small 4 wheeled dolly to pop under the ball hitch of the trailer, therefore converting it into a 5th wheel articulation, that would have to be a leccy winch/tirfor job though, got some plant batteries that would power a winch for a while, not sure about 1000m though...

Good point, The bodywork of the RR is sacrificial, I'm happy to clearance it, although the rear doors and the front footwells are awkward. If I use the spring lifters to raise it a bit (40-60mm) then I shouldnt have any difficulty with the propshaft clearance from what I can see, anybody used...

I did think about swapping out, but is there much difference in the suspension? The RR I have I know to be reliable for long euro trips, so am confident that it will eat the miles and that it has been serviced regularly, theres probably a couple of grand difference in value between my RR and a...

Not far, my mate works as a restraint nurse there, he wants to come too. :o Its worth 'enough' for me to bother to do it, I'm not able to discuss prices etc in public, nor show any photos of what it is etc, suffice to say it is worth the effort ;)

The vehicle for recovery has no hubs or axles, and doesnt have enough structural integrity to get out of there unless strapped and braced to a trailer of some description. Sounds like hard work on the Peat bogs! I dont think this terrain is as bad as that, and if I stick to the tree line then...

Some proper advice at last! Thank you!:D Theres a guy on ebay selling 20 GRP waffle boards for £400, think thats the best deal ive found so far, was thinking about making up some steel ones, but they would probably be weight prohibitive in large numbers. Hoisting upwards the plan...
