    Panic over. I've just had a good look around the engine bay and found what looks like a vacuum tube hanging loose, after re-attaching it to the cylinder head the throttle is back to normal.... Doh Thanks for the suggestions all

    Yeah, the cable is fine and the mech is returning properly. Any other ideas?

    Hi, I've recently replaced the clutch hydraulics on my 1998 1.8 freelander (turned out to be a broken slave cylinder bracket). As soon as i started it back up afterwards the revs are going through the roof whilst idling (5000+ revs). Could I have disturbed something or am I going to have to...

    Thanks: No it's not the bracket, it's the hydralic 'arm/rod' that seems to be breaking off. The actual cylinder is still attached to the bracket.
