I think those measurements are from the floor not the wheel centre

I was hoping that as this was such a common problem they would be available for a few pounds easily in the UK. Obviously this is not the case so the aftermarket one seems the way to go. Unless anyone knows different?

Yes, this is the symptom of the the resistor failure. I think its a pain in the A*S to fit though.
