thanks to everyone for the help so far. To be honest I didn't chech the battery because I though with the lights etc and the winch working it wasn't likely to be the battery? Not sure if that was the correct assumption? It doesn't sound like a battery as there isn't that usual winey murmer...

Thanks to everyone for their help. Been out today and had a good look under the bonnet and underneath. There was no fluid in the reservoir and when i got underneath there does seem to be liquid around the slave cylinder so looks like thats the one. Thanks again.

I haven't checked to be honest, will have a look when its light tomorrow. There was no Fluid on the clutch pedal shaft or in the foot well which I've read is a clue if the Master cylinder is leaking. Need to investigate further tomorrow I think. Thanks for your help.
