    UK to Oz cost

Hi Cassie, Thanks for the post. When you get to Oz I hope you can find time to come through Kalgoorlie. The sixby is next on the list for work. I hope to be able to do a trip somewhere around WA when my next leave is due in June next year. Fuel is my biggest killer economically. This does...

    UK to Oz cost

Hi Chris, I'll still be on leave then. If I get this to UK I'll flog it off and maybe pick up a lightweight or 101 to bring back. Always wanted one of those. Theres no rust in the sixby at all and at the moment only 101500 k's on the clock so it has plenty of life left in it for...

    UK to Oz cost

Just an idea at present but I have had the 6x6 for 4 years now and have done 1500k's in it. Mainly because I have other projects and time is always the enemy. I have been reading a few posts esp overland with kids and started getting the itch. Two options, 1 do the reverse, Oz to UK or 2, ship...

    UK to Oz cost

From those who have done the trip what roughly does it cost to set up a Landrover and travel to Oz via Russia, China and Asia? Cheers Brian

Looking to buy an expedition Landrover

Probably 50000Aus dollars. Depends on what I spend between now and when I finish it although it doesn't need much more spent. Just time of which I don't have a lot to spare at present. i have a full time job, OC of 2 army cadet units and have 5 other series landies I'm restoring. Never get bored

Looking to buy an expedition Landrover

This will be for sale when I have finished overhauling it. Only trouble is its in West Aus. Underneath its the same as the Aus SAS is using to run around Afghanistan. Aluminium body, galvanised chassis,300 litres of water, 370 of diesel (800 if jerry cans stowed in side compartments) 3.9Lt...

    Coolest Landrover you've seen thread

This was the coolest one I've had. I drove it to Kalgoorlie from Perth in winter at night in the rain. Never again. I froze my arse off. The one at our A Res depot is a 2000 Td5 and only had 17000 k's on it when I last drove it. No aircon, power steering, nothing but it looked the part as did...

    Series 2A military ambulance

What was the rear like when it was in service? The Aus ones look taller but narrower.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Todays pics. I should have taken a few while I was up the road in the bushj.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Finished putting the floor in the first FFR and fired it up for a drive. First time in a couple of years. Drove like a beauty after I washed all the red dust off.

What have you done to your Landie today.

One gearbox out as it was locked in reverse gear and got the new one in. All I need to do now is finish bolting it all in. Done it all while the UK was sleeping

    6x6 Perentie

It does 5k's to the litre or about 14 mpg so twice what I use in my Td5. Seeing its only for travelling and not everyday use that's not bad. For an expedition vehicle there's no preparation, just walk out the front door, jump in and away you go. Everything you require is inside. The rear...

    6x6 Perentie

Normally drives on the middle two but seeing the front and rear are engaged by vacuum through a T piece it would be easy to set up 2,4,6. All three have ARB air lockers plus there's a winch at each end so it would take a fair bit to bog.
