All sorted!! Fuel pump was knackered. £248 later the disco back to normal and I even treated her to a full fluid change for good measure. A Big thanks for everybody's comments and suggestions. Very helpful indeed!

It's on 108k miles. So it's probably due a new pump lol. When I turn the ignition on I can hear a click coming from the rear end, I'm thinking it is power going to the pump but I could be jumping to conclusions. Thanks

I have noticed a distinct lack of sound coming from the fuel pump. I used to be able hear it pumping now there is no sound at all. So I'm hoping that I've identified the problem. I'll try swapping relays and fuses around to see if that's the problem. Thanks guys this is proving really helpful.

Ok then so it's a new fuel pump then! A simple case of taking up the access panel in the boot floor and popping in a new pump???? I'm hoping to do this myself on Monday as soon as I can get a replacement pump £££££££ lol! Will I need to get any fault codes cleared??
