    Speedo not working

    1981 Series III Speedo isn't working. I've put a drill on the end of the speedo cable and the speedo registers. :) Fitted a new cable but still no joy :mad: Left new cable fitted and disconnected at the speedo end to see if the shaft in the cable turned when driving along - nope, not turning...

    Ok - got it - I'd undone the spanner nut but was trying to undo the nut on the tube rather than the nut on the pipe. Tube off now, awaiting replacement. Thanks for the tip.

    Thanks for the quick reply.... I'd slackened off the spanner flats but still when I undo the main nut the tube curls up. I must be doing something wrong?

    I need to replace my flexible clutch pipe, however, when I try to undo either end, the flexible tube starts to twist up. In other words as I undo the nut the tube goes around with it. Undoing a bit each side doesn't help. There must be an easier way. I could just cut the tube but I assume...

    Thanks for the comments gents. I have a charger than you can switch between hi & low charge and so based on your thoughts having it on low should be ok.

    Does anyone know if you can charge the battery of a Series 3 via the auxiliary power sockets (red & black) from inside the vehicle?
