Andy's Landys, Coventry -Forum Spammin Extremely Dubious OTT Recommendations From Noobs Nobody Knows

Perhaps you've got a bit of old spam stuck in your beard from breakfast... Why so cynical? My original post was 100% genuine - thought it would be a help to forum members - surely one of the purposes of Landyzone?

    Alpine TDM-7548R

Cheers mate - turned out you have to make sure the function button is lit first, then press the preset button till the frequency flashes and THEN press the preset again.... Bingo! No more messing about! Cheers Tonk

Does anyone out there have this model of Alpine radio fitted and more importantly do you have a copy of the instructions? I need to know how the station programming function works... Cheers Tonk

Andy's Landys, Coventry -Forum Spammin Extremely Dubious OTT Recommendations From Noobs Nobody Knows

*Edited by moderator* Andy may or may not be a decent mechanic but only an idiot would have the bare faced cheek to use a forum link as their website to advertise without asking permission.....let alone an LZ thread. Spamming forums with dubious recommendations in an attempt to get free...

    Transmission locking up-HELP!!

My Disco 1 is causing me a few headaches. The most recent trick it's pulling is that the transmission is locking up when I reverse around corners. It doesn't really happen when I'm reversing straight though. I recently renewed the shock absorbers but can't imagine I did anything that would...

    Driving light bar...

Sorry if this topic has been done to death but I'm looking for a bar to mount my front driving lights on. I can't mount them direct to the bumber as the bolts are not long enough to go through the bumper and number plate assembly. Does anyone make something reasonably priced? I'm not really...

300 tdi disco heated rear screen light

Bulb holders are clearly visible when you remove the switch, and they are colour coded-one green and one orange. Just take a smallish screwdriver and turn the slot anti-clockwise. You may need to tap the switch on the table to persuade the bulb holder out.

    Disco 1 gear knob removal

Having a spot of bother removing the gear knob from my disco. It's at a funny angle and I want to reposition it, but I can't shift it. I've tried grunting a lot and that didn't help:mad: Is it threaded or simple push-on pull-off? I have a nasty feeling it might have been glued... Any...

    96 Disco Seat Base replacement

It's probably just the diaphragm under the seat that's gone. Not available new but if you can find a 2nd hand one easy enough to fit with a bit of grunting...

    300tdi miles per gallon

Yes, Biglad, that makes sense to me. It was a petrol engine Spitfire and the improvement a 4-2-1 manifold and straight through box made was amazing once I'd enriched the carbs slightly. You just had to drive it hard tho...:D

    300tdi seat diaphragm-struggling to fit-help!

Grunting; lots of it and a blunt chisel. Job done. Not quite sure how:D

    300tdi seat diaphragm-struggling to fit-help!

Could someone give me a pointer as to how to fit the seat diaphragm to a Disco 1 seat. I'm struggling to stretch the diaphragm to reach the clip locations:mad: Cheers Steve

    300tdi miles per gallon

Just to add my own two pen'orth... It's possible that removing one of the exhaust boxes has caused a reduction in back pressure. I remember from my triumph tweaking days that a straight through exhaust had the effect of raising the 'power band' slightly-perhaps 3-400 revs. The car felt more...
