My 2001 Petrol Vogue has been diagnosed 'terminal' by my local garage after dying on me a couple of weeks back. I'm told I have 2 options. Take the engine totally to bits to find the source of the clanging and maybe (Mr P38 say very probably) need to replace the engine, or just bite the bullet...

I had that on my last P38. The old boys in the little garage down the road found a spilt in the inlet which they lined and ground back for next to nothing. It's sweet as a nut now.

Hello All. This may sound like a dumb question from a new guy... But here goes. All of the pictures of Regulator mechanisms I'm seeing on eBay and the websites show the motor and drive shafts but not the whopping great cog. And on my P38 that's what's missing teeth. Am I missing the point?
