    P38A Interested in a P38?

Only been 7 days since you posted, you never know. A lot of folks will be on holiday at this time & may not be logging on to the forum.

    Correct Plugs?

Agreed, but then the good 'ole 3.5L doesn't have a 94mm bore

    Correct Plugs?

Can't comment on the plugs, but I can tell you that running on LPG results in higher combustion chamber temperatures. Make sure your cooling system is 100% ! Personally I wouldn't touch the stuff, based on previous experience with it in a RV8 .. but each to his own.

Insurance range rover 2.5 diesel from 2001. I have inherited the range rover from my father, but the insurance premium is outrageous, cheapest £3,500c

Agreed, though this year's renewal will be the last before I become an octogenarian :(

    P38A Interested in a P38?

If there is one thing I've learnt over decades of vehicle ownership (in my case that encompasses everything from cars to vintage trucks) is that if you are the enthusiast that cares for these things whilst spending both time & money keeping them on the road they end up up owning you rather that...

I can't tolerate a vehicle that doesn't work properly, let alone three o_O Sorry to read that ill health is a contributory factor in your decision to sell.

    3.5 efi ignition issue

Don't know where you are, I could loan you the factory manual but it weighs 3 kgs & the postage would be expensive !

    3.5 efi ignition issue

EFI was introduced in October '85 for the '86 model year, although SU carbs could still be specified for around another year. Good luck with your efforts in solving the problem, which I'm sure will turn out to be something basic.

Insurance range rover 2.5 diesel from 2001. I have inherited the range rover from my father, but the insurance premium is outrageous, cheapest £3,500c

I've had the same problem in the past & we are in rural Essex o_O Currently the RRC is with Lancaster for £137 inc. agreed value & it's parked on the drive. I'm apprehensive about the renewal premium due in August as my advanced age is also a factor.

Insurance range rover 2.5 diesel from 2001. I have inherited the range rover from my father, but the insurance premium is outrageous, cheapest £3,500c

If your RR is (or could be) classed as a classic specialist insurers will often offer a good deal, based on limited annual mileage & even offer an agreed value .. however this type of insurance is not usually available for a daily driver as you need to have the use of another car for that...

    L322 Roof Lining - saggy

Indicative of the crap manuf. are turning out in the expectation that people will spend their hard-earned on.

    Crankshaft sensor

Definitely not on the 3.5. I think I am right in saying that any engine that has a distributor will not have a CPS.

    L322 Roof Lining - saggy

Had my RRC (with sun-roof) done at a local place last year, including repairs to the backing, for £300. Surprised to find such a fault in a modern prestige car like yours, a problem normally associated with old motors

    Diesel or PHEV

When it comes to EV's in general batteries seem to be lasting for many years/miles, but as you will read on this forum JLR seems to buck the trend. Personally I wouldn't buy a JLR product regardless of how it was powered, but then I'm just an old cynic & my opinion probably doesn't count for...

    L322 Head Gaskets

My 3.9 suffered the dreaded liner slippage at around 80k. Still think the 'cost saving' LPG conversion (converted 10k miles previously) was a contributory factor. Did indeed save me money, right up to the point when a new short motor was needed

    L322 Head Gaskets

Not just Land Rover, anyone contemplating ownership of motor vehicles built over the past decade or so risk facing the same pain in the wallet. Once the warranty expires ..

    Plastic sills RRC

Thanks guys .. I'll keep you posted on the subject of 'holes' once the work is done in a week or so. Essentially the removal of the plastic is to allow the body shop to treat some surface corrosion at the bottom of the black painted wheel arch sections (visible when the rear doors are opened)...

    Plastic sills RRC

Having another senior moment  Need to remove the black plastic sill trims from my '87 RRC. Do I remember correctly that you just knock the old plastic rivet centres through into the sills themselves, then use new rivets to re-fit the sills ? Thanks guys.
