I used to live near Blackpool, there wasn't anything locally, apart from the aforementioned Red Rose. A few of us who had ex military LR's used to meet up at the Grapes in Wrea Green and travel to 'events/shows' together.

Cheers, I'm actually having a trip back next week, for a month. Not looking forward to the journey - 9 hour train trip from where I am, to Urumqi, then a 4.5 hour flight to Beijing and a further 11 hours to Heathrow.
