if the icelandic goverment keep their "superb" job ongoing, can I then move into your garage with my landy? It's a bit rusty so I'm pretty sure I can fold it up in a suitcase. Great photos, very detailed and informing for enthusiastic learners ;)

All the plugs look ok and with the coils undamaged. Haven't tested them yet but they look ok. I've removed all the plugs and the connections for them (took them in for a bit of a clean up and some anti-seize compound)

The earth wire goes down to the first glow plug and then they are all four looped together and the last plug is connected to the engine block. Is this really the way they came out of the factory? Do you really have to connect the last one to the engine block?

so the last wire to the engine block is necessary?

it appears like he's connected earth and + charge together, from the bulkhead and over to the engine block. I'm going to work some more in the car tomorrow, got all day so gonna take a notebook and log everything down cause it appears like the guy didn't know what he was doing. Have to check...

yeah I get it that they should be connected parallel but the connection to the engine block is what amazes me most...

Bulkhead being the car interior?

No, the engine isn't running at the moment. Noticed one cable in there were a big portion of the rubber was gone, like torn or something and there's no battery in it. I got it for less then 80 quid so this will be my first car to practise on :)

I have to take it apart and locate one cylinder head that needs to be reconditioned. And if the total cost for getting the engine back up running doesn't exceed my limit then I will rebuild the entire car (over a long, long, long period of time)
