Well at least I made one correct choice. Sounds like its beginner trails for me then if the freelander cant hack anything harder!

I stayed clear of the petrol freelanders due to serious issues with head gaskets. Its the diesel TD4 engine. So off roading in this 4x4 is a big no-no then?

I've heard that clearance isnt as great as the disco but they can still manage. ming/BoB? cant say ive come across them yet.. but im assuming they are freelander owners?

Not a problem, Its a nice motor and something different from my motoring past. Would love to take it off roading even if its not extreme... still only a beginner at this time. gotoneatlast - How do you mean when you refer to inbetweenies driving it?
