    Hi chaps Can anyone tell me what the valve timing is for a 19j, 2.5TD land rover engine, ie what degrees the exhaust and inlet valves should start to open on the firing stroke ? Any help would great

    90 No go !

    Never got round to looking at the landy today as it got a bit cold and snowy as I have not got a work shop at home, but I will work on it tomorrow weather pending, also fed up of removing the low pulley and water pump with all the bolts to remove. I am sure that the problem now is the pump...

    90 No go !

    I'm 90% sure that the valve and crank timing is ok, as when the number one piston rises for the firing stroke the exhaust valve closes and when it is past TDC the inlet valve opens. I think that the pump timing might well be out, as you said earlier. I will have a look later and let you know. Tar

    Hi there chaps, I have bought an E reg 90 land rover for the first time and on the way back from picking it up, it broke down. It appears that one of the push rods broke and so on, as we think that the timing chain jumped . I have replaced all of the push rods, valves, valves springs...
