Well, decided to trace the wires from the ignition switch, the 12v supply and position 1 wire went straight to the loom. The position 2 and 3 wire went into a black box, obviously some alarm / imobiliser then back out into the loom. Bypassed the wires and she fired straight up !! Not sure if...

Thanks for the pointer, I located the relays on both sides and checked each one individualy. The all appeared ok visually and when activated most did something, i.e. one turned on the washer motor, one the heater fan, one turned over the engine and others were wipers etc. I am now...

Thanks, I see what you mean but the switch does work in position 1 & 2 just not for everything, example if I turn the wipers on, they switch on and off when I turn the key on and off, so I suppose it is either one circuit within the switch or a fuse. :)

Thats got nothing to do with it, if the solenoid was stuck it would either turn the engine over constantly or just not work when I turned the key. Remember I have no indicators or red warning lights, and its not the battery as I have tried jumping it off a lorry battery.

Good call, although the ignition does feel normal and definately works as in turning on so the wipers etc work, also when you turn to crank the radio etc goes off, which I believe is normal to give maximum cranking power. Would there be several circuits in the switch, which would make...
