    Yet another 2a rebuild thread

Ye they are Britpart all round, its difficult to say what the quality is like as the thing has sat in a garage for 6 of the last 7 years, they haven't rusted at all which i guess is a plus and they are still in near perfect condition even though it has been outside for the past year. It will be...

    Yet another 2a rebuild thread

Whilst we had the engine out I opted to replace the steering relay, I had heard some horror stories of those that are difficult to remove and was very surprised when it pretty much jumped out, not complaining though!

    Yet another 2a rebuild thread

Had a shot at re commissioning the cylinder head myself but the valve stems were for the older internal oil seals, looked into getting new stems reamed in but in the end gave up and opted for a turner performance head, hopefully it will feel the benefit of the extra 6hp! I had messed up when...

    Yet another 2a rebuild thread

Its been a fair while since i posted any updates, between house moves, children and a seized engine it almost ended up on flea bay. I am missing a few pictures but these are the start of the engine coming back together.

    No spark at plugs?!

Leads were new 18 months back, rotor and dizzy cap performed fine before rebuild, i get what you are saying but in my opinion if it ain't broke don't fix it!

    No spark at plugs?!

Cheers for all of the suggestions, it is now working brilliantly, the culprit was the carbon brush sticking in place.

    No spark at plugs?!

    No spark at plugs?!

Hi, I am putting my 2.25 engine back in after a rebuild and i have no spark at the plugs, before the engine seized it was running. I have checked for a spark at the coil by putting a spark plug in the HT lead coming from the coil and earthing it in the engine bay and there is a spark. I have...

Vibration after rear prop UJ change...

Just a thought but when I did the rear prop shaft on my 110 some years back, I inadvertently slackened off the nyloc nut holding the rear drive flange into the diff, this introduced a bit of play until it eventually vibrated itself loose. Just thought it might be worth a check.

    Camshaft Position

I had a look for the P marks and unfortunately there are none on this sprocket, there is, however, a punch mark on the one slot, after reading the manual a little more it looks as though it is the slot directly opposite this that the woodruff key should locate in, seems odd though to have the...

    Camshaft Position

Thanks very much James, I will get down the garage today and give it a shot, really enjoying this rebuild, learning stacks and taking a lot of photos along the way, will get around to posting them up here at some point

    Camshaft Position

Hello All, I am currently in the process of rebuilding my 2.25 petrol 3brg, although I thought that I was being very thorough on dismantling the engine, upon reassembly I have noticed that my timing marks could have been better, I made a point of marking the position of the cam sprocket...

    James's rebuild thread

As for lifting the body off we constructed a timber frame to support the body when we changed the chassis, it would have been a lot better with scaffold poles but had to work with what we had. Not sure it is the safest way to go about it!

[Stuck in Georgia] Clutch feel different - noise when down max

+1 on the release bearing being the fault, worth getting the clutch fork changed for a heavy duty one whilst your at it.
