Just been to my local scrappy today for a look round and came across an ex army s111 lwb. The chasis was in mint condition but because it was in on the scrappage scheme they cant sell it on. I managed to get the hood sticks, hood, tailboard, and twin fuel tanks all for £100. Really ****ed off...

I have just replaced my 2 1/4 petrol for a 200tdi and managed to fit it with a hand from a mate of mine in two weeks. The engine with rad and intercooler cost me £300 of ebay. I have now gone from 8 mpg to roughly 25 - 30 mpg.

But they are good quality and fit like a glove and are worth it in my opinion

I will be fitting some La Salle door cards to mine in a couple of months time. These are good quality products and are not that expensive either.

Thanks for all your suggestions everybody. Turns out the slave cylinder was goosed to changed it today and everything working fine now.

Bit of a problem today i can engage 1st to 4th ok but i cant engage reverse without grinding and the clutch pedal feels very light. There is plenty of fluid in the resevoir so has anybody got any ideas as to whats wrong.

Well after a lot of blood , sweat and tears here is the final result.

Removed the egr today and just aswell as it was full of this rock hard black gunk so it obviously wasnt doing its job. Big thanks has to go to John for helping me today and for adjusting my timing. Engine runs a lot smoother now and has a bit more go in it not much but better.:)

Thanks mate i will have a look when i remove it. The fuel consumption is really quite bad on this Landrover the worst i have ever seen so hopefully when i remove the offending item i will be a bit better of in the fuel department.. Regards Nev

Does anybody know what this is, it is attached to the exhaust mainfold and to the carb. I have looked at plenty of other 5 main bearing engines and havent seen one at all. Do i really need it as i think it is affecting my engines performance.

I used the little rollers you get from Focus. Going to finish of painting the roof white and wheels then the galvanised bits going to clean up and spray silver

Nope didnt get any bubbles while painting

I used the small Sponge type roller for radiators
