Waiting for new power cell since February from JRR . Trying to get the car on the road by adding an alternator to charge the 12v battery which the power cell would do

Diesel but reason for question is the hybrid batteries are defunct and China holding the UK to ransom. Been on the waiting list since February for new power cell.

Can one replace defunct hybrid battery system by fitting an alternator?
