Hi not getting 12v to the coil on position 1 only on position 2 , and when a turn the key back ot off no power to the coil , When the engine is running power keeps going to the coil when the key is turned the off position

Hi new to the forum, Just got a 1993 discovery 1 v8 Got an issue engine won't switch off with the key, have checked the key switch appears to working when the engine is not running, any ideas Thanks in advance
