    P38A Thor Temp Sensor.

Thanks Datatek-will check the gauge and most likely keep using torque. Many thanks again.

    P38A Thor Temp Sensor.

Thought I'd get around to change the temp sensor on my 99 4.6 today. Gauge hasn't been working for three years-I use phone and torque lite. Changed it over after cutting my 24mm spanner in half and moving the alternator and air con compressor and the same no reading on gauge. Checked with...

P38A 3rd time broke in 17 years-brake pipe kaput this time.

All done apart from putting the wheel liner back in. Managed to get away with bleeding the back calipers only-luckily the fluid hadn't dropped too far emptying the chambers in the pump. Brakes seem much better-either new fluid makes a difference or its the placebo effect.

P38A 3rd time broke in 17 years-brake pipe kaput this time.

Bit of progress-new pipes on last week-bleed nipples freed off (I was expecting a snapped one!!) - need to get around to bleeding it today or tomorrow.

Indeed! I'll tidy the bench before making the new pipes! All I seem to do is move tools from one place to another!!!

P38A 3rd time broke in 17 years-brake pipe kaput this time.

Weather got a bit warmer so thought I'd have a start on this today. Had to grind the mud guard fixings off to remove the inner wheel liner. Good thing though-I remember years ago when i took it for an MOT to a friends garage-they replaced a brake pipe or 2 on the rear end and put these...

Even my 44 year old Vauxhall Royale has a split reservoir! I'll wait until the weather warms I think!!!

P38A 3rd time broke in 17 years-brake pipe kaput this time.

Morning all, jumped in the car this morning, drove a few miles and low brake fluid warning came on. Came home, topped it up and looked underneath-dripping near the air tank. How fun are these to change?

P38A P38 nearly went up in smoke!

All fixed-got a secondhand amp and complete door wiring loom from a fella on one of the forums for £25 delivered. Replaced the burnt out wiring using part of the new loom and connector - soldering the wires and using heat shrink. made sure everything was as waterproof as possible-now have music...

P38A P38 nearly went up in smoke!

Quick update - found the burnt shorted wires and isolated them. Fuse 9 now OK and windows working. Will get another amp and door loom and waterproof everything.

P38A P38 nearly went up in smoke!

I'll trace the loom back a bit see if its ****ed further back. Still stink of smoke! Good thing though-disconnected the battery connected it again and it started!

P38A P38 nearly went up in smoke!

Opened up the car then locked it. Went into garage and coukd smell smoke. Smoke coming from drivers door-disconnected the battery and took off door cover quite quickly!! Amp unit was burnt out. Wires were fused into unit and so I cut them. No windows working and it keeps blowing fuse 9. Starts...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

It's got 4 wires coming from it-two sensors in the same unit. One sensor is for the gauge the other for engine management. The OBD output takes it from the engine management one.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Unfortunately it's a petrol-only way I can see to get at it is to move the alternator. Tried moving the air con compressor but not enough room. Sensor is between alternator and air con pump-just underneath the accelerator cables.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

It's not bad. Been removing the surface rust from the calipers and backplates-need to paint/underseal the rest now. Also need to change the temp sensor-been using my phone and torque lite to show engine temp for the last two years! Need to grow a pair and remove the battery!!

    P38A EAS Unlock suite

Update-got the standard height correct using Datateks measuring stick method (excellent thanks). Only thing I found was that whilst the front finally stored bits were close to the measured values using the get heights in the software, the rears were a bit different. Other heights next. Thanks...
