You are right - still a lot to do but every step forward is a win! I was going to order a lower repair section for the safari door too. Where did you buy yours from? I suspect they will all be the same.

Thanks!, I still have door tops to build up for the front, fit the 2nd row doors and build up, a front wing to be painted, rear safari door to repair and paint, and not forgetting to complete the wiring, fuel system, sort out seating, etc… so plenty to do yet 😬

I thought I would put some new fixings to hold the roof down rather than use the originals. Makes it look a bit better in my opinion. I also gave one of the second row seat bases a clean and refinish using TRG vinyl dye. It is not cheap but certainly more cost efficient than a re trim!

Hi @Wagon Loon , thanks for your reply. The channel seems to fit vertically at the rear end of the sliding window. See image below. They way it was previously fitted seems to be incorrect as it would not seal correctly.

Anyone else got this channel fitted? Maybe @Wagon Loon you have this? Once I get this right I’ll get the installation finished. Meanwhile I fitted the grab rail, as I was fed up tripping over it 😊

I’ve been having great fun aligning the roof, side panels, ‘b’ posts and windscreen today 🤬. Had to resort to some tweaking with ratchet straps to get the bulkhead into a better position. Also had to do the same with the ‘b’ posts. I’ll tighten the bolts down on the roof and see how it all looks...

Thought I would take the opportunity to use my son to give me a hand to lift the roof for a trial fit. Not too bad a fit but will definitely need some jiggling around to get a better fit!

Ha, ha - I actually have an air rivet gun, but no compressor any more 😂. Hopefully not too many rivets to install, so just bought another manual one for now.

Followed the same process as the other side to clean, paint, seal and install the window channel. It was a bit more challenging but i got there. Need to go and buy another rivet gun now!
