    Unfortunately it has died. The cylinder head is cracked so now up for sale as spares or repair. Need to start looking for a fresh one.

    Problem solved. Wrong size alternator pulley.

    Speedo is ok, shows about 10% fast which it has always done. Think the alternator pully sized may be wrong since the problem only started when the alternator was replaced. Does anyone have the measurement for the pulley?

    Checked readings from Tacho and Speedo seems to me that the Tacho is showing about 500rpm too many. Anybody any ideas as to why this should be?

    Yes, tried both of these, even got the glass off and resealed it with silicone, but problem still exists. Should there be some sort of vent to allow the moisture out (?), I notice that later models have vents. Regards

    Headlight Misting

    Any suggestions to cure headlight misting on a 300TDI. Dried itout with a hairdryer, still came back. Somebody suggested putting silica gel in, but would that work, worried that interior temperature from bulb might ignite it. Any help appreciated.

    1995 Disco. Cost £1800, 4 1/2 years ago. Spent about £1000 on repairs and welding plus servicing. Runs well on vegetable oil. A little bit noisy but cruises at 70 mph no bother. Wouldn't be without it.
