    For anyone who has the same problem, and comes across this thread, the issue ended up being caused by the injector wiring loom. It had corroded and got oil in the connectors, so it was acting up. Seems to be a common problem with TD5s, so that's fun. I also had an error code for a faulty MAF...

    The one you linked looks like a decent option. It says it includes a microphone but it's not clear whether it's built into the unit itself, or if you can reposition it elsewhere in the cab. I reckon you'd need to be able to position it where you like if you stand a chance of being heard...

    HELP! TD5 Defender 90 Major Electrical Faliure

    Hi I'm TOgbourne's friend with the defender. It was one of the 5amp fuses in the centre block (behind the gearstick). The fuse diagram on the back of the cover had an icon of a book. I'll look it up in the manual when I get home from work.
