Hi, no I think the boot switch is OK, it wasn't working as apparently it gets earthed via the drivers door and a faulty microswitch in the door latch can prevent the boot opening also, fingers crossed it all works OK now as I've put all my tools in the boot today and I'm too old and stiff to...

New door latch fitted today and a jump start of my old Discovery, running again drove it home, keyfob that worked the central locking is doing so again and both start the car, plus I can now open the boot too :)

That's a shame, did they leave you a fully loaded cash machine in the back for your troubles?

My thoughts here too Datatek although at only 19 years old it's the newest of all the Landrovers I've owned and more like a new car than an old one to me :)

Thanks, got Martys lock test sheet and Mozz's sync checks etc too, made some enquiries about a new latch unit for the drivers door, don't think there's much point me taking anything else off it for now until I have a working latch to fit.

Hopefully I won't need to find out , unlikely any local car thiefs will bother with it, if they can get it going I will be impressed though

Quite possibly, it's outside the premises of the key fob specialist I'd been at asking about re syncing one of my fobs or getting a replacement, he's been trying to get it resolved also, should have probably made that clear earlier.

I've got Gem breakdown cover, can get it recovered, think it's safe enough where it is but just didn't fancy leaving it unlocked there.

Update from today, thanks for all the help, docs, suggestions and Moz on the phone too Ran through the suggestions from Moz to try to sync the fobs again, couldn't get it working though. Removed the door card from the drivers door, bellied out the cable from the door station to the latch...

Ta, yes, batteries swapped yesterday (had new ones as I'd bought a Britpart key fob refresh kit which I'd recommend you don't use as the rear screw on cap is made from softer plastic than the original, I've had to now reuse the original one!) I'll check out BBS, ta for the tip.

Hi Gold Rover Think I've a microswitch fault in the drivers door, manually lifting the lock only unlocks that door and the boot won't open either, so from what I've read about the issue looks like a microswitch or ground fault, got the EKA code from LR yesterday (drivers door and boot issues are...

Thanks DT, cake or cash not a problem for assistance , only had it 2 weeks and ironically I was at an alarm specialist when it happened enquiring about re-syncing the fob that wasn't working the central locking remotely. I looked up Nanocoms last night, £465 to buy one new, now keeping an eye...
