Yeah I've seen very similar items on mini-diggers etc too. This particular disco does have the twin waterfalls (aka sunroofs) and electric windows as well so I guess the original buyers splashed out on some optional extras

Umm.... That's the current limits of my Disco auto-electrical knowledge reached then :) What pray does a fusible link look like and where might I find it eg under the bonnet, behind the dash or somewhere else?

Yes its some aftermarket jobbie - a small black plastic pendant that has to be contacted momentarily to a metal circular contact on the dash, then have 10 seconds to insert regular key and turn to postion 2 or rinse and repeat :) This is all working absolutely fine though and, thinking about...

Did you ever manage to find and fix this problem? Ive got a 200TDi 93 Disco that is doing the same thing all of a sudden, no indicators or hazards, but weirdly the indicator lights still all flash fine when locking/unlocking via the fob?!

Good suggestion but I've replace the switch (and relay) with new items both and still see the same problem. I'm wondering about the immobiliser system itself (as when the fob is pressed all the indicators do flash fine) but can't find anything about issues with the 200TDi immobiliser just info...
