    2002 Disco 2 non starter

Hi Sierrafery. Been out on the Landy again today, following up on your last bit of advice. I managed to get a good fuse box off of a local guy breaking a Disco 2, so I thought I’d just replace mine anyway. When I pulled out the connectors underneath, the one directly beneath the clicking relay...

    2002 Disco 2 non starter

Excellent, thank you Sierrafery. At least that sounds like better news than replacing an ECU (I think). I’ll get the fuse box out again this weekend and see if there is any corrosion or anything else obvious. I’ll do the multimeter check on C-0573-9. Failing that I’ll take your advice and...

    2002 Disco 2 non starter

Hi Sierrafery. No, not vanished. Nothing quite so exotic. I work in aircraft maintenance and had an urgent one on Sunday night and had to rush for the airport. Just back this evening. Thanks so much for your highly detailed response on Sunday. I’m just trying to digest in now!

    2002 Disco 2 non starter

Hi Sierrafery. Ok been out on the Landy this afternoon. I followed everything you said and got the following results: I bridged the perpendicular cavities of R9, started the engine then put the multimeter's probes across the other(parallel) cavities - I got a fairly consistent reading of 3.98...

Ok cool. Thank you so much. Was just about to give up and spend a fortune (I can’t afford) at a garage. I’m also loving learning all this (so there’s always a silver lining!). Cheers Sierrafery. You’re a star!

    2002 Disco 2 non starter

Ok i tried starting the Landy again this morning (as I hadn’t touched it for a week). It started first time and with no green flashing lights. It run ok for about 6 minutes then misfired a few times and died out. I then noticed the relay ticking away loudly. I then removed the relay and bridged...

    2002 Disco 2 non starter

Ok I’ve now replaced the injector loom, cleaned everything up and put it all back together. The engine fired up and run ok for a few minutes, then misfired and died out. It wouldn’t start again after that. The R9 relay is ticking again so I’ve removed that. Now I want to do the test you...

    2002 Disco 2 non starter

I’ve had to bring my Landy Disco 2 auto home twice over the past week in ‘limp home mode’ with the two flashing green M & S warning lights on. It’s now a total non starter. I’ve charged the battery up, removed the ECU and found some oil inside the red connector (which I cleaned out), but still...
