Starter at should not be on a fuse. when you removed the indicator stalk have you covered the ends of the cables to make sure they don’t short out? What engine do you have ? Sorry for the all the questions but it may be a simple fix

You could do this yourself. They are the most basic of motors. (Could be a weekends work for yourself) When you say rewire what do you need to do?

Put new pump & p gasket on,then test again. You may not have damaged the head gasket yet. Make sure when you remove the bolts for the pump,you put these back in the correct holes. They are diffent lengths Good luck

You should supply that info to the recovery company in a complaint form. That way you may be able to claim for some damage

Did the new front diff pan take more oil to get to the level than the old standard one ? Bet you change the rear to the same design, we know you like symmetry ;)
