had similar problems on my Bedford. water had got into the 6 way switch. it is not hard to strip and clean the switch the biggest problem is removing the knob there is a small button to press in on the knob that rusts up soak everything in wd40 or similar . take bottom off of the switch slowly...
I used a throttle cable from a early 2.5 petrol 90. I drilled a hole in the footwell above the pedal and joined the cable to the pedal about a quarter of the way down the pedal. I used a little ball joint to the side of the pedal . my foot never gets anywhere near the cable.
the 12 pin socket is wired the same wether its 12v or 24v you just change bulbs

if it is on the v5 taxation class historic then just tax it on line for free. otherwise the post office can do it and they will send v5 off for you. mot exempt but it should be roadworthy ie up to mot standard . search on this forum for permitted mods.
that is not the temp sender but the otter switch for the choke light. the temp sender is on the other side of the head just under the thermostat housing.
try speedograph Richfield ltd they can recalibrate your speedo. if you look on their website it explains what you need to do. I have to send one of mine to get it done for same reason. costs about £75
found a broken wire from coil to carb intermitent when I touched it I heard a soliniod click. pulled the wire and it broke, fitted new wire now it drives great again
