hey guys, I have a freelander 1 and would like to put decent off road tyres on it. I spend time on diet track roads and fields, I also tow near to the max but not hugely often... Now, I have just discovered standard fit discover 1 wheels (and tyres 265/75/16) that look good at a reasonable...

Ok... I changed out the fuel filter and low pressure pump, I'd bought it so thought I'd may as well change it.. Now it's a part from bearmach. I had no real hassles getting it done and changed, about an hour all in and I fired it up fine. However, the original pump used to prime then turn itself...

Ok... Just to confuse issues... I flattened the battery the other day when trying to start the freelander after said injector change... So I put the re charged battery into it today and low and behold it started! Wee bit of smoke, took it for a run and it appears to be ok.... should I take it...

Guys, do you know if there is a place on the engine or fuel system where you can plug in a pressure tester (gauge)?? I dont see one in the manuals..... Thank you

Hi Nodge, Was this kit your were meaning? If so, does this mean taking the high pressure fuel pump off? If thats the case, where does this part live? I couldnt see it on the diagrams. Thanks for your help!!

Thank you so much everybody, I really appreciate your help. I dont think that get said often enough!! Ok. I will order a High Pressure O ring kit now and get it fitted, it wont do any harm. The ECU that were replaced was the main one under the bonnet (Big silver box). The body control box...

Back again with more issues... The Freelander refuses to start at all and I have spent almost three weeks trying different things and now I'm stuck.. The history is I drove the vehicle one hundered miles with no issues stopped left the car for several hours, then drove another hundred miles...

I managed to get the new one in place without taking the old one out, total nightmare. I took the centre console out and spent quite a bit of buggering around trying to get the control unit out but to no avail, its a massive job to take the dashboard out from what I could see. however the plug...

Any ideas where to start with the dash removal? I'll take a look on you tube, I've only found how to remove the centre or ground console so far...

It's a right hand drive.. so I have a fun day tomorrow dismantling my dashboard then....

I couldn't see it above the clutch pedal when I looked earlier. I've found where the green small unit goes, there's a cracking you tube video on how to access it.. so only the big one left!! Can you explain how you managed to change the unit??

Ahh FFS!!! I don't sodding believe it... wrecked the roof for nothing..I did check the unit and it looked exactly the same right enough...the two units are in the pic attached, do both of these have to be installed?? And these are the Ines that go behind the dash and radio??

How do I access the receiver, do I have to remove the dashboard?? And thank you for your help! I discovered one of the units in the head lining at the rear of the sun roof, sadly I have now partly wrecked the lining...so p***** off... looks awful now...

Hi Guys, I have replaced my ecu on my 2002 freelander 1 td4 and body control unit and I now have to find where these two units are located to replace them, can anyone help??

Ok. I have fitted the new ecu and that's cured all my electrical problems. However.. I now have to replace alarm sensor, the immobiliser module and receiver....where are they located??

Thanks for that, I have ordered the new parts to replace the whole thing. Hopefully that should get to the bottom of all the issues. If it doesn't then I'll be asking the question on here again!

Sorry guys I thought my landys details would have carried forward.. it's at 02 plate freelander es td4. Have I basically been conned then?? The faults I have are that some of the buttons on the dashboard have stopped working. E.g. The fog lamp (can't do an ecu reset) the tailgate window...

Hi Guys, My question is, Do I need to replace the entire ECU, keys, lock and ignition barrel just because I need a new body control unit?? I was told that the body control kit wouldn't work without replacing the whole damn lot as there is no one locally who can reprogram the Body control unit...
